I had a client come to the shop and his vehicle overheated severely. The coolant gauge went to cold while he was driving instead of going hot. Coolant ran out of the engine and he was driving the engine without any coolant. The coolant overheating light came on and the vehicle started loosing power, as his coolant gauge went to cold. The coolant gauge went cold because coolant needs to touch the sending unit that gives the gauge the coolant reading and there was no coolant in the engine. The engine got excessivley hot which triggered the overheating light. The vehicle started loosing power because the engine started the process of seizing up.

Bottom line if your coolant gauge deviates from the normal reading please get your vehicle checked out right away, overheating is detrimental to the engine just as high blood pressure is detrimental to the body.

His engine was completely burnt up in less than 30 minutes of normal driving and he had know idea of the damage that was taking place.

My heart bleeds for him and so I write to stop this from happening to you!
